The WordPress developer who got tired of doing it the wrong way
What kupu is
I’m Steve Newbury, a WordPress developer, working with businesses across the UK.
No account managers between you and the developer. No junior being handed your project once the pitch is won. When you work with kupu, you’re working with the person who scoped your project, built your site, and will pick up the phone when something needs sorting.
I work with trusted design agencies and specialist freelancers when a project needs it, including creative partners who’ve been doing this for over 20 years, and a HubSpot specialist who comes in when the CRM side needs proper attention. But kupu stays small deliberately. That’s the point.
Who I work with
Growing businesses who’ve outgrown DIY platforms or been let down by developers who disappeared after launch. The typical kupu client has a business that’s doing well, revenue is there, ambition is there, but the website is holding them back rather than helping them grow.
I’m a WordPress developer based in Evesham, Worcestershire but most of my clients aren’t local – they found me because they needed someone who could handle the technical complexity, not just the nearest option.
I specialise in complex WordPress builds: sites that need to connect to CRMs, handle bookings, manage inventory, or do something more than sit there looking nice. Whatever the scope, the approach is the same, scoped properly, built on solid foundations, and supported after launch. If you’ve got a project in mind, let’s talk.
I’m a member of the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and work with businesses across Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and UK-wide.
The short version
Built right. Supported properly. Partners for the long term.
That’s not a tagline stuck on the logo. It’s how I work. Projects are scoped properly, built on solid foundations, and I stick around afterwards. The businesses I work with best are the ones that want a technical partner, not just someone to hand a brief to and hope for the best.
