Accessibility Statement

Last updated: January 2026

Our commitment

kupu is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

We believe digital services should be inclusive, usable, and welcoming to all visitors regardless of their abilities or technologies used.

Standards we aim for

We’re working to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.

Current status

Partially conformant: Some parts of the website may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We’re actively working to improve accessibility.

We launched in January 2026 and are continuously identifying and fixing accessibility issues.

What we’ve done

Design considerations

Colour and contrast

  • High contrast between text and backgrounds
  • We don’t rely on colour alone to convey information
  • Links are clearly distinguishable

Typography

  • Clear, readable fonts
  • Appropriate text sizes
  • Sufficient line spacing
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without breaking the layout

Navigation

  • Logical heading structure (H1, H2, H3)
  • Clear, descriptive link text (no “click here”)
  • Skip links to bypass navigation
  • Keyboard-accessible menus

Images

  • Alt text for all meaningful images
  • Decorative images marked appropriately
  • Complex images include detailed descriptions where needed

Technical implementation

Semantic HTML

  • Proper HTML5 structure
  • ARIA labels where needed
  • Form labels associated with inputs

Keyboard navigation

  • All functionality accessible via keyboard
  • Visible focus indicators
  • Logical tab order
  • No keyboard traps

Responsive design

  • Works on mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • Adapts to different screen sizes
  • Supports portrait and landscape orientations
  • Readable at different zoom levels

Known Issues

We’re aware of some limitations:

Content

  • Some embedded content (YouTube videos, social posts) may have accessibility limitations beyond our control

Forms

  • Error messages could be more descriptive (improvement planned)

PDFs and Documents

  • Some downloadable documents may not be fully accessible

Third-Party Tools

  • Cookie consent banner (Cookiebot) – we’ve configured it for best accessibility but don’t control it entirely
  • Embedded maps or external services may have limitations

We’re actively addressing these issues.
